Personal data protection (PDPL)
Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 protects personal data, business contacts included. It has applied since January 2022; its executive regulations, which set out the details, were still awaited when we last checked. Free zones such as DIFC and ADGM have their own data protection laws.
Telemarketing calls
Cabinet Resolution No. 56 of 2024 limits marketing calls to 9:00 to 18:00, bars calling numbers on the Do Not Call Registry run by the TDRA, and says not to call again the same day after someone declines.

Messaging apps and texts are personal channels: keep them to people who agreed to hear from you.
